Info:

Jean-Paul Grobben (JP) first came in touch with music production when he was thirteen. At that time his brother-in-law was in possession of the program Reason 2.0. Once Jean-Paul saw it he immediately felt attracted to it. He borrowed it for a while to find out if it really was what he was looking for; a professional musicmaking tool.

When Jean-Paul started producing his styles were comparable with early trance or any other mainstream style in that direction. After a few months he came in touch with people from Starfleetrecords.org (a small community for promoting a group of artists). He joined the forum in search for Unknown Source (The creator of one of Reason 2.0 demo tracks, which took JP's interest). Once he became member he also got to know Jani Rantanen (Incolumis), a Finnish producer who makes 'electronic music of progressive and tech-type nature'. One of Jani's tracks, called "One With Sanctuary" is thé piece JP fell in love with. He listened to it over and over again and asked if he could make a remix of it. This was allowed and helped him develope himself as he could see small parts of Jani's method of creating his deep sounds. This inspired Jean-Paul a lot and gave him enough idea's to continue producing with a more unique sound.

During this period (the first year) Jean-Paul gave his music-producing style an alternative twist from trance to ambient-ish house. After this JP registered on a Dutch producing forum (Clubcharts) and got to know persons reffered as Hardmoon, Jerzz, Marble, Comm_Plex and Shockerbrown (nowadays this group of men has formed a small netlabel called Xal-Records). Jean-Paul got hooked to their music and was thereby able to develop himself even more, as they helped him with reviews and other such material in return.

Since that time Jean-Paul had been producing for over three years and signed up for a community which helped individual artists to gain more awareness of existance in the public (Dance-Industries), There JP came in touch with a Greek labelowner, Dimitris Tzaninis, who was interested in releasing two of Jean-Pauls tracks ("Alygos - Global Backside of the Sun" and "The Aztecs - Philosophy"). Both tracks were released on "Hemispheres 2CD - mixed by James Pearl" by Prominence Recordings in Greece and Cyprus, April 2005.

A few months before this release JP came in touch with Fahad Saleh (aka Massive / Mind's Eye), another Dutch music producer who was very interested in Jean-Pauls style. Together they formed The Aztecs and created four tracks ("Philosophy", "Aztlan", "Empty Space" and finally "Mystic Enclave"). Fahad helped Jean-Paul incredibly much with developing himself and gaining more knowledge of music production. Nowadays The Aztecs have sort of died, as Fahad stopped producing in 2006. Up till now there are still quite some Aztecs tracks unfinished, but it is still unknown if they will ever be completed.

At the start of 2005 Hardmoon and Jerzz founded Xal-Records. They invited Jean-Paul to their group allong with Shockerbrown, Comm_Plex, Marble, Mez and later on Mike Donfield. It became a small community for publishing and releasing their tracks. They had a meeting in 2005 and later on in 2007 as well. The second meeting gave Jean-Paul the inspiration and creativity to start a second project besides Alygos: Sed. JP was starting to create various styles under one name, and felt like splitting it up. Up till this day Alygos' music sounds deep and emotional combined with uptempo breakbeats. Sed goes for the more dark, hard and danceable but downtempo music.
